Warren's Football

This (so sweet) was a request from work for someone's manager on Boss's Day; he coached College Football at one time. It's Yellow Cake with Fudge Filling and covered in Chocolate Fondant. Everything in edible.
Looking at the photo, I really wish I would have re-done the "Warren" a third time....cutting cursive with an exacto knife is not the best method to doing lettering.

60th Wedding Anniversary

Even though I love the way this cake turned out in the end, I swear to you it almost didn't make it out my front door. Everything was fine and dandy until I started decorating....my buttercream yellowed on me for the first time ever! Then, when I went to airbrush the cake back to white my airbrush nozzle decided it wanted to break. So there I was at 11 p.m. at night crying my eyes out because I thought I was going to deliver an ugly cake to one of my dearest friends because it was due at 2 p.m. the next day. Well long story short, I went in search of a replacement airbrush the next morning only to buy an airbrush and find out my compressor wasn't powerful enough. So after crying again, I broke out the Luster Dust and my biggest brush and just started dusting. When I stopped, I was actually surprised, the Luster Dust combined with the yellow (okay not Spongebob yellow but cream colored) buttercream the cake turned this beautiful antique color. I guess things happen for a reason.

I just wanted to send a quick note to thank you for the cupcakes you made for my bridal shower. They were absolutely gorgeous! You’re so very talented, I told Laura you need to open your own shop!
Thanks for making my day so special!

Crystals Baby Shower

I made this for my twin sisters baby shower.....alot of work; about 80 hours went into this and a 2,000 trip (shipped it to AZ from FL). The Monogram, Bow (that broke in transit), the pearls, the butterflies, and the little baby figure are all gumpaste. Cake is Red Velvet with Strawberry and Creamcheese filling, frosting is buttercream (chocolate on bottom tier), larger pearls, strips, and dots are Satin Ice Fondant.
Most importantly my sister loved it and got to help me assemble and decorate - ton of fun.

And so it begins............

I've finally decided to make a blog.spot dedicated to my cakes. I've procrastinated this long because I honeslty didn't think my cakes were good enough to deserve a site of their own, I still don't entirely but with more people asking me to do cakes for their special occasions I thought it was time.
This is just the begining stages so please bare with me over the next few weeks until I get this thing configured the way I'd like it.

Happy Caking!
